VandySwap Tutorial
Welcome to VandySwap, the premier way to buy and sell books at Vanderbilt! Here’s a quick how-to on how to use the site.
Activate your VUnetID for use here
The first step to using this site, is to first activate your VUnetID for use on this site. Click here and when asked, enter your VUnetID and password, then fill out the short form and follow the instructions there.
Buying books
1. Click on the Books button at the top right of the page. A box will pop up. Enter your VUnetID and password. |

2. Either click Browse Courses and find your course by clicking, or type a search term in the box and click Find. |

3. Once you find the book you want, verify it is the correct one for your class, then click the Purchase or Inquiry link. On the following page, type that you would like to buy the book, and suggest a time and place for delivery and payment. Click Contact, and the seller will be notified. He or she will contact you soon thereafter confirming the sale. |

4. Work out the sale, and then meet the seller with cash or check in hand. Then, make the swap and reflect on what a good deal you got! |
Selling books
1. Click on the Books button at the top right of the page. A box will pop up. Enter your VUnetID and password. |

2. Click Sell a Book. On the following page, enter the book’s ISBN (Or click the "Sell a Classpak" link). You should be able to find the ISBN on the copyright page or outside back cover of the book. Then click Begin. |

3. Verify that the Title and Author are correct, and then fill out the course where you used the book, choose a price (the small buttons to the right of the price will help you choose a fair price), and report the condition of the book. Click Continue. |

4. Verify the information on the next screen and click Confirm, or if you need to make changes, click the Back button in your browser. |

6. When someone wants to buy a book, you will receive an email. To confirm the sale, reply to the email, and fill out the information in the bottom part of the email, including pick-up location and your preferred payment method. There is a link at the bottom of the email to remove your listing. When you make the sale, please remember to remove the listing either through this link or through the "My Books" section. |

7. Meet your buyer with the item at the agreed-upon location and time. Make the swap, and think of all the money you just made. |
